ENGL 331 - English Literature I

This survey examines classic works of British literature from the Old English period through the eighteenth century. By providing historical and social contest, this course lays the groundwork for further study of the movements and philosophies that have inspired European civilization as well as for the postcolonial critique of the British Empire.
